I cant change it to red.

What is wrong here? Is it the way red is written?

app.js
const warning = document.getElementById("warning");
let button = document.getElementById('makeItRed');
button.addEventListener('click', () => {
warning.style.color = "red";
});

You're really close. The challenge asked you to change the background color, which means you should use the backgroundColor property, instead of the color property.

warning.style.backgroundColor = "red";
