Courses Plus Student 675 PointsI can not find the Relative Layout. And I think that is the only was to change the background color. There was a update.
Please Email me were I can find the Relative Layout or if I can change the background color another way. Also I think there was a update witch changed the structure of the studio.

3,931 PointsYou can find it in palette>layouts in Android Studio . The default layout in the new version is called ConstraintLayout and is , in my opinion , much better than the RelativeLayout . I would recommend improving your ConstraintLayout skills

Courses Plus Student 3,613 PointsAndroid studio new versions are using now something called constraint layout instead of relative layout but don't worry you will learn more about it in the next course (Interactive Story). you can just simply change the background color by selecting ConstrainLayout from Component tree at the design and change its "background" property to the color you want.
also in the text you can add this >> android:background="@android:color/darker_gray" ,into <android.support.constraint.ConstraintLayout/> tag

448 PointsI have the same problem but constraint layout does not have a colour property. I dragged in a RelitiveLayoute into the constraint layout but that did not work
