I am having an unreal amount of trouble for almost a week with this word press/ channel stuff on my mac.

My website name is bigbangdust.com and I have a mac. I am unable to get anywhere when i input the information on filezilla. No matter what I put in, the 530 authentication error occurs. is there a hotline number to treehouse I can connect to? Because I keep getting the exact same responses, even If the ticket I send is totally different. I would greatly appreciate some feedback.

Hi Clay,

What exactly is it you are trying to do? Connect to your sites files via FTP to up upload something?

You need to talk to your hosting company and make sure you are entering the correct ip address, username and password to log into the ftp client. Most hosting sites have tutorials on how to ftp.

Agreed, check with your hosting provider. They should be able to help you obtain the correct credentials for the ftp account.

So i got my hosting user name and pass word and stuff. Now my files are transferring on the filezilla stuff.Now it says to do the data base stuff. But my channel(went to website and made account name) looks totally different. So now I am stuck again, it doesn't give me a search bar to find the my sequel stuff.

what hosting site do you use?

you should look for a tutorial on the hosting site as to how to upload the DB.

there should be a button that says databases as well.
