index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
    <head>
        <title>DOM Manipulation</title>
    </head>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" />
    <body>
        <div id="content">
            <label>Link Name:</label>
            <input type="text" id="linkName">
            <a id="link" href="https://teamtreehouse.com"></a>
        </div>
        <script src="app.js"></script>
    </body>
</html>
app.js
let linkName = document.getElementById('linkName').value;

That should work for you. What is the challenge saying?

It looks like you passed task 1 — good so far!

For task 2, you'll be doing the opposite: you will get the element on the left side of the assignment, and give it the value of your variable. You will need to use the ID of the <a> element, of course, and then assign to it's textContent property.

Give it a try, and if you still have trouble, be sure to share your task 2 code.
