Python Introducing Lists Using Lists Continental

How would I make an index to only display the continents that begin with 'A'?

I don't fully understand the index function, I would like to display only the list elements that begin with a capital a.

continents.py
continents = [
    'Asia',
    'South America',
    'North America',
    'Africa',
    'Europe',
    'Antarctica',
    'Australia',
]
# Your code here
print('continents')
for continent in continents:
    print('* '+continent)

Hi Moises!

This passes the first challenge:

continents = [
    'Asia',
    'South America',
    'North America',
    'Africa',
    'Europe',
    'Antarctica',
    'Australia',
]
# Your code here
for continent in continents:
    print('* '+ continent)

This passes the second:

continents = [
    'Asia',
    'South America',
    'North America',
    'Africa',
    'Europe',
    'Antarctica',
    'Australia',
]
# Your code here
for continent in continents:
    if continent[0] == 'A':
        print('* '+ continent)

This is where using the index of the string/variable sets the right conditional:

if continent[0] == 'A':

I often test stuff here to make sure my Python code is achieving the right results:

I hope that helps.

Stay safe and happy coding!
