How to improve the look of my websites

I've been here in Treehouse now for about 2.5 years, learning a lot of skills (slowly).

I would like to do full-stack work, a little more interested in back than front end, but I'l like to be able to design a functional and attractive interface.

I designed this (fictional business's) website for a final project in an community college class.

I am proud of all the cool things it does but I am not happy with the look.

The fact that it fills the screen for example, when all the other websites I see around are "centered" with a border.

This is based on a bootstrap template that I edited. I added some cool plug-ins.

I am just looking for some general advice. Not sure when my prof will purge the website. It may not be here for more than a few more weeks. I do have all my code (of course.)

Thanks for any input or guidance you can share.

That is a really cool project Nancy!

There is one thing I would like to point out though, your images are huge(file sizes). This could be a nightmare for people with slower connections. Optimizing your images is an important part of designing a website.

I can see that you're doing the front end techdegree, so don't worry you'll learn about this later in that program.

I hope that helps

Thanks. I am moving through that path very slowly, partly because I also like the programming courses here. I hope to make some faster progress over the summer. thanks for the encouragement...
