How to host a wordpress site with e-commerce?

I am starting a little business with my sister and we need an online shop. I will create one with wordpress and woocommerce but I don't know how to host it. Do I need a special service for e-commerce? We will use the 'MercadoPago' plugin for the transactions, so I'm guessing it has to have a certain security.

Hi Camila,

Are you hosting your own or are you going to have a wordpress.com site?

If you're hosting your own I would definitely suggest getting SSL for it, some hosts offer a shared SSL service which might be alright when just starting out, but you should take care with customer details. My advise would be to host it on a virtual private server (VPS) rather than cloud hosting and get a SSL certificate for the site, and as it will be primarily a shop just have the entire site resolve from https:// rather than http://

You would host it like a normal WordPress site.
