How to go about this process if I'd like to replace an up and running wordpress website with a new one I just created

This tutorial is great! I have created a new wordpress site on my local host.

Now I need to replace it with their old wordpress site. Essentially what do I do if their cpanel already has a running website which needs to be replaced?

I am too scared to do a mistake within their cpanel.

Any help / suggestion will be greatly appreciated..

Hey Ron,

WordPress in itself doesn't need to be replaced, merely updated if it hasn't been yet. What specific elements are you looking to replace? I would just transfer the theme you have plus any plugins you might need.

Hi Ron,

I would suggest making a backup of the current website using FTP and exporting a copy of the database to ensure you can revert it back if needed.

If the site is going to be temporarily unavailable while you upload the new files, you could upload a holding page while you complete the process.

You should then be able to proceed with the migration, following the steps in the video.

If you're unsure of how to do any of these steps your hosting provider will be able to advise.

Hope that helps :)
