You have the right idea, but are over complicating it. The twitter search can take advantage of the end-of-line maker "$". This makes the first preceding "@" unique to the twitter name. The leading "\b" is redundant and error prone since it is a word boundary marker character, but the at-sign is a word boundary character and so is sufficient. Removing the extra items in front of the group will pass the challenge:

contacts = re.search(r'''
  (?P<email>[\w\d+]+@[\w.]+),\s
  (?P<phone>\d{3}-\d{3}-\d{4})
''',string,re.X)
twitters = re.search(r'''
  #^[,. \w\d@]+  # <-- commented out
  (@[\w\d]+)$
  ''',string,re.X|re.M)
