5,672 PointsHow often is @font-face used in real practice?
As a novice, I perceive it as an obsolete approach towards visitors viewing the fonts that I want to appear on the page. Google Fonts is so much more streamlined. Is an advantage towards @font-face the assurance that the font will not break because the font is installed on the visitor's computer?

is used by millions of sites daily, it may not seem like it on the outside; but Google Fonts use @font-face
too since it's the only way to load custom and third-party fonts for your website via CSS.
Hope that helps.
