How is this wrong??

I thought this was the 2 place. How is it wrong?

I'm not sure which column you are referring to, but the 2's column would be the second to the last column in binary.

For an eight bit byte, a "1" represents: 128, 64, 32, 16, 8, 4, 2, 1 in base10.
