3,156 PointsHow do i use the string value here?
Do i have to convert it to a String?
Or how am i supposed to take that value if i don't gave a method like: jsonShows.setTitle?
// JSONObject 'jsonData' was loaded from data.json
JSONArray jsonShows = jsonData.getJSONArray("shows");
for (int i=0;i<jsonShows.length();i++)
{
JSONObject title = jsonShows.getJSONObject(i);
Log.i("CodeChallenge", title);
}
{
"name":"Netflix Playlist",
"shows":[
{
"title":"Doctor Who",
"season":8,
"episode":3
},
{
"title":"Arrow",
"season":1,
"episode":10
},
{
"title":"Portlandia",
"season":4,
"episode":5
}
]
}

iOS Development Techdegree Student 19,305 PointsThe variable title
, is a JSONObject
, not a String
. That's likely to cause an error in your app. So what you should actually do this:
// JSONObject 'jsonData' was loaded from data.json
JSONArray jsonShows = jsonData.getJSONArray("shows");
for (int i=0; i<jsonShows.length(); i++) {
// jsonShows is actually an array of objects, not strings
JSONObject show = jsonShows.getJSONObject(i);
// You can now declare a variable holding the show's name, or just type it in
String title = show.getString("title");
Log.i("CodeChallenge", title);
}
And it's ok, you don't have to be a genius to remember this. I actually had to refer to my project to help you in your problem.
Hope this helps!
