How do I use my mouse to inspect elements on the webpage while in dev tools without finding it in the html?

While I have the dev tools open and I am hovering my mouse on the webpage it just acts like a normal webpage without anything highlighting and giving me any information about the individual elements on the page. I have to either right click each element and "inspect" it to bring it up or I have to find it myself in the html. In the videos it shows that I shouldn't have to do that. So how do I make mine behave???

Never mind, I just watched him make it happen in a video. It's been bugging me and wouldn't you know that the moment I finally decide to post a question about it I finally figure it out. lol
