How do I solve this challenge?

Finally, remove the <li> element stored in firstListItem from the DOM.

First thing I would try is passing in the variable firstListItem as the argumment to rather than document.getElementById('first')

You'll also need to store a ul variable in your code because it's looking for that where you're trying to remove the child node but it's not finding it. Could be solved my replacing that with myList. Try messing around with that and post back if you're still having some trouble. 🙂
