How do i open your new code with the doctype? i did this <!DOCTYPEhtml> and keeps coming off as wrong

You need a space between the keywords "DOCTYPE" and "html".

If you tried this, the challenge should have shown the correct answer (normally they just give a hint):

Bummer: The DOCTYPE needs to be set to 'html', like this: <!DOCTYPE html>
