How do I incorporate .format into a variable, if that is what Treehouse is asking?

I am writing:

subject = "Treehouse loves {}" .format('name')

also tried...

subject = "Treehouse loves {}" + .format('name')

still nada?

strings.py 
name = "Hanifah"
subject = "Treehouse loves {}"

You were so close on the first one. Just drop the quotes. When you put quotes around something it becomes a string, not a reference to a variable.

name = "Hanifah"
subject = "Treehouse loves {}".format(name)

Thank you Jennifer. Actually I tried that and I kept getting an error. Actually I'm seeing this error: "Oops! It looks like Task 1 is no longer passing." all night. Is it me or Treehouse?It keeps crashing on me.
