how can I make a multiplayer app in android-studio

hi already knew the basic of android programming I want to try to make a quiz online app for example like a quiz up app between thousands of users so I want to have a number of question :

how to create server side and using in the android studio? I hear a lot about using firebase I search a lot but couldn't find any good tutorial for that.

2.if I want to create my own server side Where should I start? because I don't have any background for that

3.Which language is recommended for me to build the server? I mean(PHP, javascript or ....) and I don't have any background about web and web server all kind of this

4.what about socket programming?

I'm so sorry about foolish questions but I need help.
