how can i format firstName using a string formater "%s"

hello sorry can you help me!

String firstName = " Allen ";
console.printf('%s'firstName can code in Java");

A couple things:

  • you need to use double quotes. Single quotes are for chars, double quotes are for strings
  • firstName, the name of the variable, should not appear in the string at all, it will be passed in as a different argument to the function, separating the arguments with a comma.
String firstName = "Allen";
console.printf("%s can code in Java", firstName);

This is telling Java to using the contents of the firstName variable to replace the "%s" placeholder.
