Treehouse TeacherHi, Gard! In your code here:
for continent in continents:
if len(continent) = A:
print(" * " +continent)
You are checking the len(continent) == A
. len()
gives you back the length of whatever you put in so it is checking a number against A. For example, 'Asia' is the first continent in your loop so it will check len('Asia')
which is 4, if 4 == A
will never be true since they are not equal. (Also, you need the string 'A' and not A. You also need == and not =.)
Instead, you need to access the first letter of each string and check it against the string 'A' to see if they are equal.
for continent in continents:
if continent[0] == 'A':
print("* " +continent)
