Hard returns or concatenation on SQL Queries?

In this video Alena uses concatenation with her SQL Queries, previously she has been using hard returns like this. She even stated SQL accepts hard returns:

    "SELECT media_id, title, category, img
    FROM Media
    ORDER BY RAND()
    LIMIT 4"

Is there a reason she is choosing to concatenate now? Otherwise seems like making things slightly more complicated for no reason?
