Graphics tablets and Specialised mouse

What types of graphic tables are there? And what sizes ( as i saw some small, and some big like a desk? big tablet? ) And how much do they cost on average ?

Also, when would yo use them instead of hand on paper, or just illustrator or whatever?

And same for Specialised mouse

Most designers (I know) use Wacom tablets (market leader?) for professional drawing. Usually this tablets are uses with a special pen. I know some people who create comics with this devices.

Sometimes they draw their pictures first on paper (with this special pencils or black pens) and then scan them. So they can easily edit the pictures in Photoshop.

Well I am not a designer. I just have a small Wacom because I wanted to test my skills :p But the really professional big tablets are really expensive (1.000€ - 3.000 € or more). But the advantage is that you see your drawing on the tablet and not on the PC screen. I have a small tablet and i have to watch the screen, while drawing on the tablet...that was REALLY difficult at the beginning.

I never heard of "Specialised mouses"...most pens have buttons so you can make clicks...

I guess I can not help you too much, but i guess I am right with the pricing of these devices (at least the good ones cost that much)

Edit: There are other brands too, but I really always see these guys with Wacom. It's the same with Apple..most photographers and designers just seem to love Apple...
