Do you have a </nav> closing tag?

hmmm...

Your code seems to be missing a few tags. Let's walk through this together. task one asks that we wrap the top section in the header tags. see code below

    <header> <!-- task 1 -->

        <ul>
          <li><a href="#">About</a></li>
          <li><a href="#">Work</a></li>
          <li><a href="#">Contact</a></li>
        </ul>

        <h1>My Web Design &amp; Development Portfolio!</h1>
        <p>A site featuring my latest work.</p>
     </header> <!-- task 1 -->

notice how in your original code, the header tags are only wrapped around the title element? That doesn't fulfill the original task one requirement. This could be part of what is causing you problems.

Let's move on to task two. we are asked to wrap the bottom portion in a footer tag. see the code below.

   <footer> <!-- task 2 -->
    <p>&copy; 2017 My Portfolio</p>
    <p>Follow me on <a href="#">Twitter</a>, <a href="#">Instagram</a> and <a href="#">Dribbble</a></p>
    </footer> <!-- task 2 -->

Now this seems to wrap just fine. as you work your way through the tasks, make sure you aren't inadvertently introducing errors that fail previous tasks. that may be what is causing you problems.

post more if you need more help, and if this doesn't point you in the right direction.
