PHP Designing Interfaces in PHP Introducing Interfaces Implement MySQL RepositoryInterface

Getting "Bummer: Make sure you are using a prepared statement" although i am.

As seen in the attached code, i am using a prepared statement in both functions - all() and find(). However i am constantly getting the error that says i need to use a prepared statement. Whats really weird also is that it seems like the find() function is not even called because the var_dump does not show up in the preview. Hope you can help me figure this out. Thanks in advance!

sqlRepository.php
<?php

class sqlRepository extends PDO implements RepositoryInterface {
  public function __construct($options){
    parent::__construct($options);
    parent::setAttribute( PDO::ATTR_ERRMODE, PDO::ERRMODE_EXCEPTION );
    }

  public function all($entity) {
    $sql = "SELECT * FROM $entity";
    $response = parent::prepare($sql);
    $response->execute();
    return $response->fetchAll(PDO::FETCH_OBJ);
  }

  public function find($entity, $id, $field = 'id') {
    var_dump($entity);
    $statement = parent::prepare("SELECT * FROM $entity where $field = ?");
    $statement->bindParam(1, $id);
    $statement->execute();
    return $statement->fetchAll();
  }
}
