Fill in the blank to create a new, empty list item element and add it to the DOM.

$('.my-ul').append("<li>");

What should I put to get it right? I have tried $li, and also the example above, I'm sure it's something simple

You have half of it. But a complete list item element needs both a starting and ending tag.
