Download course for offline viewing question.

I can see there is a place which says "download course for offline viewing using iTunes". Does this take up extra space on my MacBook Air when I do this? Can I only view on my MacBook or can I also view on my iPad Pro? How do I do this? Please assume no knowledge on my part and be specific.

Having not done either, but assuming it works like anything else, yes, they will take up space on whatever device you download it to.
