Don't understand the problem with enums

I have solved the problem with the enums, but I fail to understand fully how the logic behind this code works

public enum Brand {
    JVC("JVC"), SONY("Sony"), COBY("Coby"), APPLE("Apple");
    private String mDisplayName;

    Brand(String displayName) {
        mDisplayName = displayName;
    }

    public String getDisplayName() {
        return mDisplayName;
    }
}

if someone could explain how all this code is interconnected I would really appreciate that
