WordPress How to Make a Website with WordPress Installing WordPress The Famous 5-Minute WordPress Install

Do not see WordPress install prompt after copying files via FileZilla

I finished copying over the files onto the server, but when I went to my wp-admin page, there is no prompt to complete the install? While the files were copying, my computer died but it continued when the comp started back up. Could that have been the reason I do not see the install prompt on WP? Is there a way to re-do the file transfers in Filezilla?

Alyssa,

It is possible that your computer dying during the file transfer could've caused some files to become corrupted, or not transfer at all. You can simply delete the files from the location that you transferred them to and then load them up again. Beyond that, you'll need to make sure you're pointing your browser to the correct location to finish up the install, based on where you end up transferring the files. Check Section 5 of the install documentation (http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress) for examples.

Hope this helps!
