6,293 PointsDisappointed with this course...
Hi, I love Treehouse and it's been invaluable in providing me skills needed for my current job, but I just wanted to express I'm a little bit disappointed with this course in particular.
Jesse's knowledge is fine, but the course focuses too much on editing sass, moving around partials, etc. Very little of the course involves working with hooks, actions and filters, modifying existing hooks to inject custom content into a Genesis site, etc.
I learned more in a shorter amount of time by searching around developer blogs, which makes me wonder why this course is only for Pro subscribers.

47,353 PointsI'm guessing it has something to do with the teacher, seeing all his courses are "pro" content. Personally, I dont see the wisdom in spending almost twice the amount of money ($49) for less than twice the amount of pro content, especially when new pro content is rarely released. Also, on that same topic, I personally dont see the value of the techdegree. The end result of the techdegree ($199+) gives students projects which are not uniquely designed and created by the students. One is better off going on codepen or github for free, forking the project of others (endlessly), and adding your own style and tweaks to make them your own.
I should note, although this makes for an intersting discussion, the best place to review course content and provide feedback is via the video rating system, or you may directly contact the course intructor on twitter @jpetersen.
