So every thing worked when i resized my browser but when i used chrome dev tools to see how it would appear on different devices nothing happened...

Did you add the meta tag into your html?

Ive just found this too when having a google as I had the same problem, is there any explanation as to why you need this to work, do I need to include this meta tag for all future projects that involve a media query?
