I don't understand why this isn't the correct way to add an ordered list to the "Shapes" item.

The ordered list has to be inside the "Shapes" list item, not after it. You want to close off the "Shapes" list item after the ordered list.

6,883 PointsOh, my gosh! I had been working in SublimeText2, and it must have ignored my mistake. The browser rendered as though I had coded it correctly! Is that possible?

Courses Plus Student 94,610 PointsGenerally, browsers are pretty forgiving with invalid html. You should still strive to write valid html though and not depend on the browser to fix invalid html.
