13,671 PointsCustom Post Types for Finalized Themes
In the WordPress Development tracks, Zac has us using two plugins (Custom Post Types UI and Custom Fields) in order to create custom post types.
That method seems to work fine, but what if we're making a theme that will be released to the general public, or maybe even added to the WordPress themes directory? Would those custom post types still work, or would the user of the theme have to install those plugins? If that's the case, it seems like a weird way to go about it because you don't see most themes also requesting that you install a series of plugins just to make the theme work.
I'm probably just not aware of something. Maybe there's a video with a finalization step that I haven't gotten to yet. If not, I'd love a quick tutorial on how to prepare the custom post types for public usage.
Overall, the WP Dev course is awesome and I've learned a ton from it!
