Request further assistance, I honestly don't know what to do at this point.

Hi Donte'! -

You are very close! In your if statement, you are attempting to get the target of event, however you passed it as e, so you would need to rewrite this as:

let section = document.getElementsByTagName('section')[0];

section.addEventListener('click', (e) => {
     if (e.target.tagName == 'INPUT') {
          e.target.style.backgroundColor = 'rgb(255, 255, 0)';
     }
});

Also notice the addition of the .tagName.
