Create a method on fish

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. They ask that I create a method on fish named getinfo that takes no parameters and returns a string.

<?php

class Fish { public $common_name; public $flavor; public $record_weight;

function __construct($name, $flavor, $record){ $this ->common_name = $name; $this ->flavor = $flavor; $this -> record_weight = $record; }

//method public function getinfo(){ return "The $this->name . is a $this->flavor . flavored fish with a revord weight of . $this->record; } } $bass = new Fish("Largemouth Bass", "Excellent", "22 pounds 5 ounces");

?>

fish.php
<?php

class Fish {
 public $common_name;
  public $flavor;
  public $record_weight;

  function __construct($name, $flavor, $record){
    $this ->common_name = $name;
    $this ->flavor = $flavor;
    $this -> record_weight = $record;
  }

  //method
  public function getinfo(){
   return "The $this->name . is a $this->flavor . flavored fish with a revord weight of . $this->record;
  }
}
$bass = new Fish("Largemouth Bass", "Excellent", "22 pounds 5 ounces");

?>

You did everything right but you never called the method.

echo $bass->getinfo();

The challenge doesn't say to explicitly call the method which is probably what tripped you up.

In your return values you are using the arguments from your constructor class and not the properties of the class.

wow thank you! That was driving me crazy.

I put this in and it's still not working.

<?php

class Fish { public $common_name; public $flavor; public $record_weight;

function __construct($name, $flavor, $record){ $this ->common_name = $name; $this ->flavor = $flavor; $this -> record_weight = $record; }

//method public function getinfo(){ return "The $this->name . is a $this->flavor . flavored fish with a revord weight of . $this->record; } } $bass = new Fish("Largemouth Bass", "Excellent", "22 pounds 5 ounces");

echo $bass->getinfo();

?>

Good catch! Thanks so much.

Hi, Jeffrey. It looks like you're missing a closing double quote in your return statement.

Ryan, can you write out the code out for me please....thanks
