For cPanel in general this may help.
This should help with the initial setup.
You may need to check with your server company in case they have it already / allow it installed, etc.

Sorry if I'm misreading but cPanel has never been free, what was described in the video was done so with the intention that you would already have a hosting provider that use cPanel or are looking into it, for this course it was not the teachers intention that you need to go off and install WHM (Web Host Manager) which is the software that controls cPanel and requires an dedicated and/or VPS server to install the software and a moderate level of Linux experience.
I would recommend you have a look into http://webhostingforstudents.com which provides cPanel as the control panel and is cheaper for 6 months when you're a Treehouse student.
