Couldn't you just do int(amount_due) + 1 instead of importing math and everything?

I think it is a bit easier than importing.

Imagine 20 to divide by 2.

math.ceil(20 / 2) # 10
int(20 / 2 + 1) # 11

Your solution would only work for numbers with fractional values.
