JavaScript JavaScript and the DOM (Retiring) Responding to User Interaction Event Delegation

constraining the behavior of the AddEventListener to only certain children?

I'm thinking somewhere I should specify that the target should be limited to input type=text but I don't know how to do that.

Hey Tom, you could use

let section = document.getElementsByTagName('section');

section.addEventListener('click', (e) => {
   if (e.target.type === "text") {
      e.target.style.backgroundColor = 'rgb(255, 255, 0)';
   }
});

That way the background color will only change if the target element has a type of text. Have a nice day!

Thanks for the timely and accurate input. As a newby I really appreciate it.
