How can I enter a pipe "|" in the treehouse console on a german keyboard. It's not a problem within this form element where I'm entering text right now but I can't manage to do it in the treehouse console. Please help!

Nope - unfortunately that doesn't work either (I'm on a MBP if that helps). If i work on my "normal" iTerm Console it's not a problem. But I can't manage to get it working within the Treehouse console....

Thanks for trying to help anyway! I appreciate that!

I had a similar problem working with a french keyboard. Keyboards have such different mapping sometimes, depending on the language, that I didn't want to waste time on something that I would use only in the treehouse console. So, my solution was a tedious one, I copied the pipe symbol and pasted it in the treehouse console every time I needed it. There is for sure a better way to do it, I found that link that might be useful for you but didn't work for me: http://www.atlasti.com/352/where-is-the-vertical-bar-on-my-keyboard.html
