3,631 PointsCompleted, Working Workshop Code Doesn't Work On Atom
Hiya. So I just completed the video and everything is working fine. Clicked preview and I could see the captions in the video as well as have the options to turn them off and on.
So a job well done. So i downloaded the workspace and put it into my completed coding folder for future reference. I then decided to test it out on Atom for whatever strange reason. And thank goodness I randomly wanted to test it on Atom (the app where you can write code in, recommended by treehouse in one of the past videos).
When I clicked on the icon in the folder, "simple-video.html", it opened up and the video worked. But there was no caption or any option to turn the captions off and on. I tried this in Microsoft Edge, Chrome and Internet Explorer.
In the treehouse workspace, when I previewed the code on a website, it worked on Microsoft Edge but it didn't in Atom.
I'm not quite sure what to do to fix it. I'm not that knowledgeable about the coding world but do i need to download something in Atom for it to work or maybe Atom requires something else for the code to work on Atom that Treehouse's workspace has?
Maybe the video the code is using outdated and works on treehouse but atom is up to date and it won't work with the outdated code. Or Atom is outdated. Not sure.
