Unsure why this won't compile
string input = Console.ReadLine();
int temperature = int.Parse(input);
if (temperature < 21)
{
Console.WriteLine("Too cold");
}
else if (temperature >21)
{
Console.WriteLine("Just right.");
}
else (temperature >22)
{
Console.WriteLine("Too hot!");
}

Treehouse Moderator 145,860 PointsHey Bryan,
There's a few things here.
- You are missing an ! mark for "Too Cold!" (Challenges are very picky)
- The
else
part cannot have a condition attached to it. Theelse
clause only runs when everything else (theif
and/or theelse if
) have failed. - The
else if
isn't checking for the right condition. The way it is now, any temperature over 21 will pass (but the challenge only wants 21 or 22). So here you need to use==
andOR
.
I've included the code below for you to review. I hope it makes sense. :)
string input = Console.ReadLine();
int temperature = int.Parse(input);
if (temperature < 21)
{
Console.WriteLine("Too cold!");
}
else if (temperature == 21 || temperature == 22)
{
Console.WriteLine("Just right.");
}
else
{
Console.WriteLine("Too hot!");
}
