Challenge Task .toUpperCase () method

I am not sure where I am going wrong. Someone, please explain. Thanks! Julia

The challenge instructions say to include the "#" symbol in your answer. Also, for some reason it won't let you just add the variables into that message variable you created (although that would be easier -__-).

I did the below instead and it worked:

var userName = id.toUpperCase() + "#" + lastName.toUpperCase();

Another thing to note: toUpperCase() is a string method with no parameters; you don't need to put anything inside of the parentheses.

Hi Julia,

The question asks you to make use of the .toUpperCase() function so the username is in upper case. The solution is below:

var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";

var userName = id.toUpperCase() + '#' + lastName.toUpperCase();
