SELECT title, date_released genre, STRFTIME("%m/%Y", date_released) AS month_year_released, genre FROM movies;
I can't figure out what my syntax error is, help please.

54,972 PointsYou are selecting more columns than asked for by the challenge (and missing a comma). If you reduce what you have to just what is being asked you'll pass:
SELECT title, STRFTIME("%m/%Y", date_released) AS month_year_released FROM movies;
