Cannot add a label element to the select menu with the text "Shirt Color:"

Every time I try to create a label for the select menu with the text "Shirt Color," The label does not get recognized, and instead I get a message saying that I need to add a label. How can I fix my code?

Oops, my bad. Didn't realize this was for a challenge on here.

You just have to put the label before the select element. Like this:

<label for="color">Shirt Color:</label>
<select id="color" name="shirt_color">

Thank you very much! i did not realize that order mattered.

"color" is not a form element, so the label isn't being attributed to anything.

If you want more of a "title" in the drop-down list, you can use the following code to put it there and the user won't be able to select it as an option.

<option selected disabled>Shirt Color:</option>

You misunderstand my question, the challenge specifically asks for a label for the "color" select element. How else do I refer to the select element besides its id of "color"? Your proposed solution works but isn't what the challenge is asking for- the challenge specifically asks for a label element.
