struct Expense {
var description: String
var amount: Double = 0.0
init (description: String) {
self.description = description
}
func calculateTaxes(percentage: Double) -> Double {
return (self.amount * (percentage/100))
}
var item = Expense(description: 50.00)
Expense.amount = 100.00

57,712 PointsYou need to put the use of the Expense struct outside of its definition:
struct Expense {
var description: String
var amount: Double = 0.0
init (description: String) {
self.description = description
}
func calculateTaxes(percentage: Double) -> Double {
return (self.amount * (percentage/100))
}
} // <- I moved this
var item = Expense(description: 50.00) /// description is a string. Try "Hotel"
Expense.amount = 100.00 // this isn't right, though. Use item.amount
And there's a couple of other points I added in code comments.
I hope that makes sense!
Steve.
