string = 'Perotto, Pier Giorgio'
names = re.match(r'(?P<last_name>\w+), \s(?P<first_name>\w+\s\w+)', string) // that should work

Treehouse Guest TeacherThat'll catch that name but it wouldn't work for a name that doesn't have two words in the "first name" part.
