Build a WP Theme. Activate custom theme. Blank still. Ack! Help.

So I have been doing the how to build a custom wordpress theme and I think maybe I missed a step along the way. The installed word press seems to be working as I can see post 1 2 and 3 in the default theme but when I activate the allison grayce theme its remains blank. front page has been edited to have the code it needs.

I am signed in as my wordpress.com gravatar and not the root setup I used would this complicate things? I wouldnt think so.

when I go into customize and I turn of static front page I get my front-page.html now.
