Blog index page - WordPress theme template

I'm going through Zac's course on how to create a WordPress theme. Having an issue currently in trying to create an indexed or main page featuring all of the available blog posts. When looking at the WordPress hierarchy, I am not understanding which page template WordPress will be looking for to create this main blog page

Let me know if this question makes sense, or if anyone can point me in the right direction

home.php is used for the blog - a listing of recent posts
