Basic Selectors Challenge, question 2/5

QUESTION: Select the img element and apply a bottom margin of 20px.

/* Complete the challenge by writing CSS below */

h1 { font-size: 62px;

}

img[src="mtn-landscape.jpg"] {

margin-bottom: 20px;

}

I get the wrong answer even though I believe my output is right. As you can see, I selected by the exact src img[src="mtn-landscape.jpg"]....

Any suggesitons? Thx Peter

Hi Peter,

Looks like your output is technically correct, but I'm guessing this is testing your ability to use a type selector without anything else, such as an attribute selector. The following snippet will pass the challenge:

/* Complete the challenge by writing CSS below */

h1 {
  font-size: 62px;
}

img {
    margin-bottom: 20px;
}

Perhaps the rationale behind this is given in the course, or a Treehouse Teacher can chime in?

Hope this helps,

Ajay

I agree with Ajay, and while I can't say if this was intentional, it does convey a lesson about avoiding excessive specificity.

In general, you'll want to be careful of this in CSS because it can have side effects on other things, such as media queries that are intended to adjust margins to other settings for particular screen sizes.
