Does the width and height have to be defined per "box model" in order to upload images?

it is not a MUST that you define width and height (so you do not "HAVE TO"), but I would highly reccomend you specify at least the width of an image. Otherwhise the image will most likely not take the size on the webpage that you want it to take.
