Asked to create an array named data with any 3 numbers in it. Why does this not work?

var data = ['1', '2', '3'];

script.js
var data = ['1', '2', '3'];
index.html

Because you have quotes around the values, they're considered strings, not numbers.

Hi Gunter.

It's because you're trying to put your numbers in quotes which turns them into strings. Anything put into quotes like in your example JavaScript treats as a string so you should take them out :-)

var data = ['1', '2', '3'];

You're submitting the numbers as a String. Remove the single quotations.
