Are you able to configure the shop page so that "add to cart" shows up for variable products?

Hello,

I was wondering if you are able to setup the shop page so that "add to cart" is set up for variable products, and once you click into it, the user then select what options they want. The reason I want to do this is because I want to keep the home page looking consistent, instead of some products with select features, and some products have "add to cart". It looks a bit confusing as a consumer not knowing if there are variations to the product.
